What should be done to prevent scabs after hair transplant?

After surgery patients may witness the formation of scabs on the scalp which even cause itching. But it quite normal that to get rid of itching of scalp persons rub them off with finger tip.

In number of cases it has been noticed that even along with scabs patients also lose the hair embedded in them. But there is nothing to get panic as shedding of transp0lanted hair after few weeks is normal as the new hairs replace them which grow naturally and look healthier than old ones. But excess of rubbing is not advisable at all as it can be harmful for your scalp.

Why scabs formed after surgery?

It is ability of skin to protect and heal it by itself like if you have cut on your skin then after some time there clot will be formed with thicker blood and the Fibrin begin to form structure to throughout the clot to hold it in place that  structure is called scab.

Under the scab healing process of skin remain continue so after hair transplant scabs get formed  for the healing of scalp so these are quite normal and advised not to rub them off.

If you are feeling so itchy then you can use hydration spray saline to keep the grafts hydrated and prevent dryness of scalp and after 10 days of surgery you can apply the aloevera gel on your head and wash it with regular shampoo to rub scabs off.

Even if the scabs are falling with the embedded hairs then even nothing to worry as the roots are already settled in the scalp that will grow naturally. But in extreme cases you may consult your surgeon.
